Mission 3-Methodology-Digital Journalism Blog 3

Mission 3-Digital Journalism Reflection This mission was really fun to do because we where able to be creative on how we done our video and everybody's was different. The mission was also good because we where able to take what we had learned from our previous missions and use it in this one which in my opinion really benefited us whilst doing the podcast and it also helped us during our editing phase. This may have been the hardest mission to come up with the content, from the very beginning we didn't really know how or what we where going to do in our video, and yes you might say we had our suggested tasks but still we where definitely finding it hard of what the meat of our project could be,  the main thing we chose to do was how each application portrays there media and news stories and create something on that but it was really hard to find out what we should actually talk about on then podcast The editing part of the podcast turned out really well even tho

Mission 3-Digital Journalism Process For the process since we knew what we where doing and we had the time to complete this mission it was quite easy to finish it, it started off with the development phase where we all came together and decided what we wanted the podcast to be structured like. We had already know that we wanted to base it off a Joe Rogan podcast because his podcasts are the greatest one on the internet to date. So basically once we had our style for the podcast set out we each took a different topic to talk about on the podcast, I took Instagram and how they portray there news feed, Jack took Snapchat and the same again how do they portray there new, and Mark chose Twitter for his part. We then found a room that was quiet enough and not too echoey so the sound quality of the video wouldn't be bad we set up the camera and the microphone on the computer and began to record, we brought up our topics throughout the podcast and had a discussion on each, c

Mission 3-Digital Journalism Product For this project I was with Mark O'Brien and Jack Clinton, we decided to do Digital Journalism because we had some sort of interest in the topic and we thought it would be a suitable mission for the few weeks ahead. We weren't sure at the beginning how we where going to present the mission in video for because we wanted to get as much information across to our audience so we came up with a list of ideas of what we could do for this mission and the list is as follows: *A podcast where we can talk about a certain topic in Digital Journalism to date *A new show where we can make up a news story based around digital journalism *A voice over of a power point documentation based on the idea of digital journalism and everything about it from past to present In the end after multiple days of deciding Mark, Jack and I came to the conclusion that we where going to do the podcast, the reason being is because it was the best wa

Mission 2-Internet of things Reflection I found this mission to be quite a difficult one in the end, we got satisfactory which is fine but it was all to do with the fact that we looked at the internet of things in a different way to what we should have. I found it a bit of a challenge also to get people to do the survey at the beginning, even though it may not have seen like it was a challenge it really was, until we realized that we could ask people via WhatsApp to do the survey. Another thing that we found quite difficult about this project was figuring out what the IOT actually really was because we looked at it in the way of things that can connect to the internet like your phone for example, but in fact it was actually to do with things that are not primarily supposed to connect to the internet e.g. a fridge. One other part of this mission that we found very hard to complete was actually figuring out what we should do for the mission for example for the last mission

Mission 2-Internet of things Process This wasn't really a hard mission to do overall, it was just very time consuming. It mos definitely took 30 hours to complete the tasks we set out to do and also at the same time it took time to figure out what really the internet of things was. So firstly I will talk about the research that went behind the internet of things, we didn't really look for a lot of history one to two slides at most because it would just make the presentation boring in the end. We took some time out to research what the internet of things really is and also the security issues behind it all.  We then preceded to look up how to do an online survey for free and this took some time to actually find a free good survey app because most you would have to pay for a monthly description, but I remembered back to my secondary school days where we used to use this application called Survey Monkey It is a free software to make an online survey and was perf

Mission 2-Internet of things Product For this project i decided to  go with the Internet of thing because I wasn't really sure what it was about and was really interested in knowing what it was all about. For this project I was with Ania and Tochi, at this stage I personally knew most people from my class so knowing them wasn't really a problem at all. So basically we had to definitely do some research first to know exactly what we wanted to figure out how we where going to do this mission and complete it in the time frame that we had so we set out some goals that we thought where necessary to complete what we need to do and they where as follows: *To figure out what the idea is of the Internet of things *To find out how it is used in our everyday lives *To find out the problems with security of the IOT in today's world By the end of this mission and the product that we produce we hope to complete these goals and have a greater understanding of what we

Mission 1- Creativity-Digital Audio Blog 3 Reflection So at the end of the mission we got a satisfactory which was a decent score considering the fact that it was our very first mission that we have done. The presentation itself turned out very well with only 2 slides of history which was more than enough and for the class to be able to listen to the podcast very clearly. I think it was a good idea to shorten the podcast down completely and just have a little part of what we recorded, maybe we could have 2 or more parts for a bit more meat and to show the work that we actually did rather than just have one short one and that is it, because it looked like we just recorded the podcast in like five minutes.  One thing we can all definitely take from this mission is to have more meat in our missions so that we can show that we definitely spent more than 30 hour on this project. Because now that i look back on it the work wasn't really shown in the presentation, the time wa
